Suture Suspension Lift Defined

Suture Suspension Lift (SSL) is, in its simplest terms, a procedure that lifts loose skin or flabby soft tissue.

Where traditional lifts required a surgeon to make large, dramatic incisions in order to create results, the SSL experience is quite the opposite. We combine several small incisions with long internal sutures to contour and shape the face and body without resorting to such invasive and complex surgery. In fact, it's so minimally-invasive, the procedure is done with only local anesthetic meaning no IV sedation or general anesthesia. You'll be wide-awake and comfortable during the entire procedure.


The Reynolds-Serdev Technique - In Depth

The Reynolds-Serdev Techique lifts the deep moveable subcutaneous tissue by anchoring it to non-movebale tissue (fascia which covers the muscle, periosteum which covers the bone, or the bone itself). Employing this technique results in a more natural and youthful appearance. The Reynolds-Serdev technique is ideal for lifting the face, neck, chin, ear, nose, eyebrow, breast, buttocks, and abdomen. The technique was mastered and taught by Dr. Nikolay P. Serdev, MD, PhD., of Sophia, Bulgaria who in tern trained and bestowed upon Dr. Reynolds the title of "Master Trainer" -- the only certified "Master" in the United States--who has later gone on to refine and enhance the technique and equipment used.

This technique is significantly better than typical forms of lifting which are superficial and generally do not last as long. These superficial lifts go by the names of "Curl Lift", "Coffee Break Lift", "Contour Thread Lift", "Feather Lift", etc. These approaches appear similar but do not last nearly as long as procedures done using the Reynolds-Serdev Technique.

There have been no reported significant complications reported using the Reynolds-Serdev Suture Suspension technique. This procedure has been in practice since 1996 and has been performed thousands of times.
